Join an experienced Bird Guide for a short walk to learn about the many birds in the Port Aransas area.  Weekly guided birding tours are offered free of charge on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center.

The Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center is a renowned birdwatching destination located in Port Aransas, Texas. Named in honor of local conservationist Leonabelle Turnbull, the center offers visitors a unique opportunity to observe a wide variety of bird species in their natural habitat and our resident Alligator named “Boots.”

Situated along the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center features a network of boardwalks and observation platforms that wind through diverse coastal habitats such as marshes, wetlands, and ponds. These habitats attract an abundance of birdlife throughout the year, including migratory birds during the spring and fall seasons.

In addition to birdwatching, the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center offers educational programs, guided tours, and interpretive exhibits that highlight the importance of coastal conservation and the diverse ecosystem found within the Port Aransas area.
