- What are some popular activities or attractions in your beach hometown that you and your friends enjoy? “Some activities that me and my friends enjoy are playing beach volleyball or spikeball, enjoying local food,Β fishing on the jettys or the canals, cruising around listening to music.”
- Can you share any hidden gems or lesser-known spots that you think other teens visiting should check out? “Some spots to check out would be local trail walks, parks or some of the ice-cream shops.”
- How do local teens typically spend their days in Port Aransas? “Most days yes, theyβll usually go fishing, or play basketball, and go to the beach.”
- Any favorite pastimes or traditions that teens enjoy doing on the beach? “Beach bonfires or random late night walks on the beach, crab hunting or just messing around.”
- Are there any water sports or recreational activities that are particularly popular with you and your friends? “Jetsking, fishing, surfing, skimboarding, or just swimming.”
- What are some of the best places to grab a bite to eat in Port A? Any favorite restaurants or food stands?Β “For breakfast/ lunch I’d definitely say Coaches and Island Cafe or Coffee Waves. For more dinner/lunch options I would say more like Fins, Lelo’s, MacDaddy’s, Saltwater Cowboy. For Mexican food Jaun’s is my go to but Cancun’s is also good too.”
- Are there any events or festivals that happen specifically in your beach town? Which ones are your favorites? Why? “Sandfest is probably one of the biggest events that we have here and is probably my favorite because its probably the most fun one to be apart of.”
- Do you have any tips for visitors with teens who want to make the most out of their time in Port A? “Definitely unplug from your phone and don’t be afraid to go up to other people on the beach to make friends and hangout.”
- Are there any environmental or conservation efforts happening in your beach community that you’re passionate about? “For me I do a lot of beach clean ups or local fundraising marathons.”
- What are the local teen hangout spots?Β “Some local teen spots are the parks, Pizzeria and the beach.”
- What are some things you would tell an out-of-town teen if they should do while in town? “Go fishing, go to the beach and enjoy yourself, drive around, go mess around, but be respectful to the locals that live here.

Surfboard can usually be rented at local shops like Boardhouse or IslandΒ Β Surf Rentals.Β Lots of times there will be Volleyball nets set up with people playing and I would encourage those that wish to play to ask to play with them.

You can book bay fishing charters and even try your hand at flounder gigging. Flounder gigging is using done at night.Β If you feeling extra adventurous there are lots of deep-sea fishing excursion in the Gulf of Mexico. Around the Corner There are aΒ few more options just a short drive from Port Aransas. Horseback Riding on the Beach is only 20 miles away on Padre Island.
